Use of Funds

The Manye Foundation guarantees that none of your donation will be used for administration. All of your gift goes directly to the community.

The Manye Foundation is small enough to keep its adminstrative staff to just a few volunteers, making it perfectly suited to have a meaningful and powerful impact on the community. We use your gift directly for our Current Programs. At present, we use 60% of your money to support the Campaign for Our New Home, the construction of our first permanent school building. About 10% of your money gets associated with our general Matching Grant program that allows local families to multiply their contribution. All of the remaining donations go towards covering the costs of education at Manye Academy and providing resources for our other programs.

Administrative costs are virtually elminated because we are volunteer-driven. Every dollar of what we receive goes to procuring resources for our projects, such as meals, teachers salaries, construction materials and wages for building our new building, deliver resources (anything we ship with foundation funds goes directly towards our community programs), provide health treatment and education, or any of our other programs. We do not contract out to fundraise or pay groups to administer any of our projects; at present we are able to cover all administrative work through volunteer and pro bono services. All of our operations come out of the home and the community, meaning everything you give gets to where it should go. Volunteers, although they bear the burden of our programs, often receive assistance from their own fundraising or outside grants.

We have provided you with several outlets for giving to allow you to have greater influence in our work. Money donated to Manye Foundation’s general services goes towards all of our programs, while money earmarked for a Matching Grant or for particular learning materials, go immediately to those causes. Matching Grants, once fully matched in Ghana go to support our general services.

Shipping costs are covered through the proceeds of the Dartmouth|Ghana book drive at the end of each term.
