We believe all people have a right to healthcare. Sadly, completely preventable disesases like Malaria still affect hundreds of millions of people each year. Millions do not survive. There is no reason a student should not come to school, let alone not survive, because of a preventable illness. Other students cannot afford shoes, leaving them susceptible to debilitating parasites. Others come to school unable to read the blackboard because they need glasses. Or they have ordinary wounds that get infected in the tropical climate due to lack of treatment.
The Manye Foundation is uniquely positioned to ensure families receive the healthcare and health knowledge they need. From assisting with prevention programs like the UN’s fight against Polio or providing HIV/AIDS education to providing medicines or preventitive treatment, the Manye Foundation has the respect of the community when it comes to health. One of our local staff members is a professional nurse who offers her services to students or families in need. We understand that healthcare is not a matter of medicines and money alone, but rather it requires strong relationships in the community. This is where Manye excels.
